This project quickly became the most popular thing any of us have ever made. Most of us got back together for the "Finish Your Game Jam" (by PIGSquad) and decided to put some polish on it.

The biggest change you'll notice is the removal of Desktopia. This is for a number of reasons (see other devlog) but mostly it was a fun, short-lived gimmick that kept us from doing more interesting things AND having anything beyond a dedicated Windows build. We felt compelled to keep the spirit of the desktop alive and pay homage to the '98 the project is named after. There is now a pixel desktop, complete with clickable icons, windows, folders, media players, etc. The windows can still be used to interact with the environment like they could before.

Other changes you may or may not notice:

• Water added to fish environment
• Background audio has been cleaned up
• Additional SFX all around
• Art assets for the desktop area, endless runner, and dating sim (everything looks cohesive now!)
• Cleaned up endless runner code (that was a mess, sorry)
• New input system in place (things are more responsive)
• A bunch of little touches that you won't notice - but you would if they didn't happen!
