Still going!


Looking at the page it may seem things have stalled with this project. However, the metrics show it still gets a significant amount of daily plays AND people continue to download the outdated project (?).


Three of us continue to work on it in our spare time (which is limited). It feels corny to write this out but I'm genuinely excited to share the new updates. The end goal is now Steam and, though our roadmap is pretty manageable, I'm thinking MAYBE by the end of this year we'll have a predictable launch date in mind.

 

Things in the works:

  • Revised side-scrolling space shooter
    • Powerup tree leads to different abilities
    • Level design
    • Boss
  • Revised endless runner
    • Tons of QoL updates + some flashiness
  • 2.5D FPS minigame (a-la Doom / Hexen)
    • Level design is a huge time-suck at the moment but it's so much fun to work on


Things discussed / on the table:

  • Encyclopedia system of unlockables
  • Settings
  • Desktop / pet customization options (aesthetic)
  • At least one additional Bud
  • More evolution options and nuanced interaction tracking
  • Additions to the date sim minigame
  • Budz Trainer (a-la Pokemon). The code exists but the time investment is the question.
