Feedback Fixes!
R-Naught » Devlog
R-Naught was recently entered into a feedback showcase hosted by the Portland Indie Game Squad. Based on the feedback received, a slew of minor changes were made (though most affect the entire game). The demo (v1.1) has been updated to show these.
TL;DR: Readability and art were requests for feedback. Art is in the works. Most of the changes made were to make the game more accessible and readable.
Fixes / Adjustments:
- Restrictions for using items (e.g. using health potion on a dead char) were messy and there was no indication of the rules to the player. This was completely reworked. Items that are 'unusable' no longer have an option for use, and text for other circumstances now notifies the player of rules.
- Several instances of currency being called 'gold' and 'geld'. All are now 'geld'.
- Player is now able to cancel an attack during battle.
- Menu can no longer be brought up while shopping.
- Level up screen now notifies that HP/MP were restored.
- NPC dialog in the beginning is more practical (pertaining to game rules).
- Players and enemies now flash red when health is below 25% (in battle).
- Icons to indicate NPCs with dialog, quest functions, restore (staying at inn), interactive world items, and shop have been established.
- More fluidity with notices (at points there would be a jumble of pop-up screens to click through). A system is in place to execute them one at a time as they are closed.
- Flee attempts are now much more straightforward (as it's become obvious that nobody flees battles...)
